It is...FRIDAY!! Which is my favorite day of the week because I get to post my "Old School Friday" Picks! In case you are new around these parts and don't know what "Old School Friday" is, well it is grown folks MUSIC! Yes we post some music that comes from some time before 2000, (hopefully) to relive some memories, and to educate or just entertain each other.

Great choices. I loved your "Claudine" choice the best. That movie brought back so much memories living in Harlem in the 1970's.

I was gonna post that soundtrack from Color Purple as well, but I went different route.

Good stuff Regina. I couldn't stand the movie "Armageddon", but love me some Aerosmith!

How can you go wrong w/Gladys and Curtis Mayfield's "The Makings of You".

You and Marva are killing me w/The Color Purple. I swear I'm gonna start cryin'.

I never heard the Aerosmith song.
I have to get the movie Claudine, never seen it.
That is one of my favorite parts of The Color Purple.

Out of the three, I am only familiar with Aerosmiths: I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing and I love the song.

Speaking of Claudine, they have been showing this movie on the TVOne network, but I can never seen to catch it in its entirety. I dig a lot of 70's movies, so I am definitely gonna try and catch it and then I will know where the Gladys Knight song came from.

I figured there was a theme, but at the time I posted mine, I didn't know it. The song from The Color Purple was my favorite in the movie, and after that was Sister.

I didn't know GK remade Makings Of You! Learn something new everyday. Great pick. I see God Is Trying to Tell You Something was a popular pick this week. And for good reason!
